Why we celebrate and why it's crucial to always remember.
Veterans Day, in the United States, is a national holiday observed on November 11 to honor veterans of the armed forces and those who lost their lives in the country’s wars. This observance began in 1919, marking the first anniversary of the 1918 armistice that concluded World War I and was originally known as Armistice Day.

November 11 was established as a national holiday in the United States in 1938. In 1954 Armistice Day, was renamed Veterans Day to honor all who served in U.S. wars. Each year, ceremonies take place at the Tomb of the Unknowns, and floral tributes are placed on the graves of service members and at memorials nationwide. Naturalization ceremonies have become a significant part of the day’s events.
We owe our current freedom to the sacrifices they made on our behalf.
Why does it cause so much pain to realize that so many individuals sacrificed their lives for our country, America? Paying tribute to those who have died in service to our nation is always challenging. Words can never truly capture the immense sacrifices of the fallen. It becomes even more challenging when the commemoration involves the families and friends of those we honor.
The enduring words of President Lincoln deserve to be repeated. On November 19, 1863, at Gettysburg, he reminded us, “The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did…”

It is dedicated to everyone who sacrificed their lives to secure and defend our freedom over the centuries, all for the fundamental truth that "all men are created equal." This dedication is for the unalienable rights we continue to cherish today, such as "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness," rights that courageous young men and women still volunteer to defend.
Because of them, our American way of life inspires hopes and dreams worldwide. The ideals of our country have attracted millions to our shores, individuals from across the globe who immigrated here, became Americans, contributed to building and strengthening this nation, and made their own sacrifices for future generations.
In times when our nation has encountered the looming threats of war, individuals from all walks of life, heritages, ethnicities, and religions have come forward, declaring, “They will serve. They will go. They will fight for what is right.”
To all who are honoring the memory of a loved one, we extend our wishes for comfort, strength, and peace of mind.

Military families experience both the sacrifices and pride linked to service. On Veterans Day, we honor not only those who wore the uniform but also the spouses, children, parents, and loved ones who stand by them. Life in the military often entails long separations, frequent moves, and continual adaptation to new circumstances. Families act as a foundation, offering stability and support throughout a veteran’s career and beyond.

Veterans Day offers families an opportunity to consider their part in supporting their loved one's service and to be recognized for the silent strength they contribute to our military community.
As we pay tribute to veterans for their past service, it is just as crucial to think about how we can support them in the present.
Honoring veterans should involve a dedication to supporting policies and resources that tackle these challenges and ease their transition to civilian life.
Numerous veterans leverage their skills and experiences to develop programs that specifically cater to their community's needs, such as mental health care and job placement support. Veterans Day presents a perfect opportunity to discover these initiatives, volunteer, or support causes that positively impact veterans' lives.
Ways for Americans to Commemorate Veterans Day!!!

Participate in a Veterans Day event.
Parades, ceremonies, and community gatherings offer a chance to express gratitude and engage with veterans.
Go to a memorial or cemetery
Contemplating the lives and sacrifices of veterans can provide a deeper appreciation of the day's importance.
Connect with a veteran. Offering a simple thank you or inviting them to share a meal can be a meaningful way to express gratitude and support.
Support business owned by veterans
Veterans apply their leadership and problem-solving abilities to the business sector, and by supporting veteran-owned businesses, we acknowledge their contributions beyond their military service.
As we commemorate Veterans Day this year, let's keep in mind that our gratitude can go beyond mere words. By actively supporting veterans and their families, we can establish a tradition of appreciation and care that honors the sacrifices they have made for everyone.
Let us take a moment to honor the numerous lives that were cut short in the pursuit of noble causes like freedom, justice, and peace.
From all of us in Alamo Texas "Happy Veterans Day" to everyone all over the United States!!!!
