Song From You Tube

Initially, there was light rain, but it soon escalated into a tropical storm. People continued their regular work routines until 3 p.m. When the RGV opted for a change. As the sun set, the skies turned dark and ominous. Mother Nature unleashed significant flooding and heavy rain upon us.

However, I'm fairly certain that people anticipated the rain would cease by the time they finished work, only to find it persisted. As the water levels rose like in films, people became alarmed. Cars everywhere began to stall as water flooded into them. People started to panic, eager to find a way to get home.

Many businesses had to remain indoors throughout the night for safety after losing power. The highways became heavily congested, with numerous cars stuck and unfortunately damaged. Residents of the RGV felt powerless as Mother Nature demonstrated her true force.

If a hurricane were to strike us, what would the RGV do? We're still not ready for that. It hasn't rained for months, so when the rain came, it fell rapidly but didn't drain away quickly. Why is it important for us to support each other during emergencies? I witnessed a person getting a ride from someone else after being left by their spouse in Pharr.

As residents of the RGV, we should be concerned about this issue and start preparing for possible future disasters. What actions can we take if a storm occurs? We know that streets tend to flood during storms, but we also need to be able to go to work the following day. Currently, some companies lack a plan. The mayors of each city, deep down, seem apprehensive. They bear the significant responsibility of safeguarding every resident in their city, which is a substantial duty.

So how could we the people help our self in case of a situation like this.

I want to express my appreciation to one of my heroes for being there for me during this challenging period. I am incredibly thankful to you, Leo. He drove me to work, brought me back home, and risked his life to save another person's life.

Observing the individuals at the Wal Mart gas station, I noticed they were all vulnerable, with their sole aim being to find safety. If a similar situation arises in the future, it's essential to establish more than two shelters here in Alamo.

I recently discovered that during these situations, the police department and an elementary school remain open. I understand that everyone prefers to be at home where they feel safer, but I was trapped in the San Juan church, with many cars parked outside the lot. Many places had people stranded, drenched, and without a warm place to stay.

I needed to use the bathroom because I was feeling bloated. Then I saw a sign in the Walmart restroom. How could I handle this situation without risking a fine?

For many people, such as men, the restroom might not be a concern, but for a woman who needs to use the restroom, it becomes a problem.

If you were a woman in this situation, what would you have done? I'm not trying to criticize Wal Mart, as I didn't ask about the state of their restroom.

Nevertheless, this suggests that the valley is not ready for disaster. I recommend that we unite during the city hall communication meetings and start supporting our community to succeed despite such challenges.

I hope everyone arrived home safely. In short, we successfully overcame Mother Nature's challenges. Let's strengthen ourselves by uniting. I want to thank the Mayor of Alamo for consistently supporting the people of Alamo. Keep finding ways to help us thrive.

I finally arrived home at 11 pm
